This is a short one cause we just dropped some BIG NEWS today!!

There’s been a lot of stuff happening behind the scenes lately, we wrote and recorded and entire new album, been planning music videos, and we’ve been scheming shows!

May 9th is a tribute to Toronto legend “Bookie” at The Garrison

We’re gonna be performing songs from Big Star and it’s gonna be an amazing night with many local legends. Admission is free with a donation to the food bank. This will sell out so get there early.💛

May 14th we’re supporting Gully Boys (a wicked band from the USA) at the Dance Cave. Doors are at 7pm music will start at 8pm. 🤘🏻

Hey friends,

I’ve been finding it hard to do anything lately, hunkered down these past few months.🐻 But I’m trying to give myself grace and do things when I get a burst of productive energy. ⚡️

I will say, I’m finally starting to find my mojo again, and I do love writing these newsletters 🥹. Just in time, too, because we have some really exciting announcements.

You might be asking, what happened to NXNE?🤔…Well, we ended up booking another festival and we couldn’t make both work, so we had to pull out. Which is sad, I know, because we haven’t played Toronto in a minute… but there is a secret show happening on May 9th that will be announced shortly. This is a magical festival in Yellowknife, NWT and personally I’ve wanted to play it forever, and it’s finally happening!! Our friends the OBGMs and Aysanabee are performing as well. It’s gonna feel like summer camp in the midnight sun, baby! 🌝

Otherwise we’re waiting on confirming a few tours and a bunch of shows in the USA. I know, it’s messy down there right now, but it’s the next logical step for our band and we’re hoping to make a splash! 🥳 Now we just wait for our visas to come through 😬

I don’t want to rub it in, but Toronto has had some fantastic weather, ☀️ the sun has brought me out of my winter funk.🥶 End of Feb / early March can be rough for me. Luckily there have been a few really fun festival announcements to zap 💥 me back to life.

Here’s what we are allowed to announce so far. But we have so many more coming down the pipe…including a few multi show tours.

We’re working on a small run both on the west coast 🗻 and the east coast 🦞 this summer. So get ready!! 🚐💨

I’ll give you a hint about the TBA shows…the first one we’ll be playing in almost 24 hours of daylight 😵‍💫. The second one isn’t in Toronto, but VERY close by 😉. More to come!

One of my favourite things about this creative life is seeing what all my cool friends are making.🫟 So many of you have your own endeavours and we’re always flattered when someone wants to collab. 🤗

That’s what happened when my friend Rob asked ABM to be part of his new musical initiative Phoebe Street Live.🎸 Rob has converted his home into a magical music space. He’s true to the vision and we’re so glad to be the 3rd episode in his series.⭐️

Just a little recap of Fest du Voyager! 🧣

We had a wonderful time in Winnipeg. We even reconnected with the Japan crew! 🇯🇵 That’s Yoshi our Japanese TM, and Julien who we met in Osaka, he books the festival! Small world eh?🌏

One of the best parts of playing music 🎵 is the connections you make. You get to tour all over the world and meet these amazing people who then connect you to more fantastic people. That’s how we ended up playing this, all because of one night in Japan.

Buds, we’re firmly into 2026 and so far it’s shaping up to be a really nice year. I was saying to Devo this is sort of our “planting seeds time”.🌱 Then it’s fun to watch those seeds grow and bloom in the coming year.🌷

I’m not a huge Valentine’s day person but I’ll never say no to a little extra love. 💝

This year we’ll be spreading the ABM love at Fest du Voyager! All our Winnipeg pals keep telling us how special this one is, we’re jazzed. Funny story, we actually met the booker in JAPAN of all places. He saw us perform at this wicked club in Osaka and BAM💥 now we’re on the bill. Music is cool 😎

If you have buds in Winnipeg please tell them our set is at 8:30 on Feb 14th. We’d love to meet all the pals. ⭐️

We also had a fabulous time at Wintersong! We met so many new pals there and we warmed up our dancing shoes in -20 weather!🥶 Here’s a clip of a brand new tune we debuted!🎸

Huge thanks to Kevin and the folks that had us this year. Its funny, Wintersong 2 years ago was really the big kick off for ABM and look how much has happened since then! Wild maaaaan.😅

As for summer plans, we’re coming back to Edmonton in July!☀️ We’ll be playing Pembina River Nights.

We’re playing SUMMERFEST this year!!! It’s an absolutely massive festival in Milwaukee and we’re so excited about touring in the USA. A little nervous for sure, but really pumped to be dipping our toes into a new market. 🤩

Welp…it took me at least a week to get over the jet lag. I slept for 16 hours when we got home. The flight was 14.5 hours, 😅 but totally worth it!!

Here are the top 5 things we loved most about Japan:

1. The FOOD 🍜🍱🐙 Ramen, Udon, Soba, Sushi, Okonomiyaki, Takoyaki…

   oh, and the 7/11 snacks. Seriously they’re no joke.

2. The cleanliness.🧼 Did you know there are no public garbages in Japan? We learned to bring a little bag with us to enjoy our treats. It takes some getting used to but the payoff is there’s no garbage everywhere and that’s very nice.

3. The People! 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 So nice, so polite, and they know how to rock!

4. The Public Peace. ☮️ There’s a social custom in Japan where everyone is entitled to a peaceful day. You’ll notice this especially on trains, busses, in restaurants, and on the streets. 🤫

5. Shinkansen 🚄 The Bullet Trains! These are truly the way to travel. They go over 300km/h!! Japan has an amazing program where if you’re from another country you can get a “rail pass” and travel all over for much cheaper than the regular price. Highly recommend.

Bonus: Everyone plays the best guitars over there. 🎸 No matter what style or how proficient the artist, they had amazing vintage guitars. Very cool.

Can you believe we played 53 shows this year?! 🤘🏻 That includes radio performances and the like, but still! Very proud of our little band, and it’s mostly thanks to you folks.

We don’t do Spotify because… *gestures to everything* so we’ll just say that our numbers grew about %1000, and our album was streamed almost 100K times!!! That’s huge, so thanks. 💛🙏🏻

Speaking of our album it’s Bandcamp Friday today (Dec 5th).

That means Bandcamp waves their take home fees and gives all proceeds to us. If you feel so inclined, use abmholiday at checkout for a 10% discount on the vinyl for the holidays.
